Leadership

Effective leadership and management are necessary for high-level performance within an organization. However, many organizations differentiate between leaders and managers, when in reality successful organizations have managers who possess leadership qualities.

Unfortunately, many organizations continue to use traditional management practices based on the principals of scientific management. These principals have been in practice since 1911 with organizational models that have developed for 100 years. But, these more traditional practices no longer serve most organizations. Many organizations are heavy on management, neglecting leadership. This limits people's capacity to perform, adapt, and innovate.

There is a need for leadership that can embrace the power of chaos and complexity, existing both inside and outside an organization.
